Who we are
CDW Community (“we”, “us”) is run by [legal name of Shane's business or Shane as sole trader], [postal address]. We are the data controller for the personal information you give us through this website. Contact us at [privacy@cdwcommunity.com].
What we collect
When you join the pre-launch list we collect your first and last name, email address, phone number (if you choose to give it), date of birth, sign-up type (buyer, seller or both), whether you've agreed to marketing emails, and the date and time you signed up.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
- Managing your pre-launch place and telling you when we open: legitimate interests, because you've asked to join the list.
- Confirming you're 18 or over: legitimate interests and our legal obligations, because CDW Community is an adults-only service.
- Sending marketing emails (offers and product updates): your consent, which you can withdraw at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting us.
We don't sell your information and we don't use it for automated decision-making.
Who we share it with
We use trusted service providers to run this site and store sign-ups: Cloudflare (website hosting and spam protection) and Google (secure storage of the sign-up list). [Add the email provider once chosen.] Some of these providers may process data outside the UK; where they do, they use safeguards approved under UK data protection law, such as the International Data Transfer Agreement or UK Addendum.
How long we keep it
We keep your pre-launch details until the platform launches and for up to [12] months afterwards, unless you become a member (then our member privacy policy applies) or ask us to delete them sooner. If you withdraw marketing consent, we keep a note of that so we don't contact you again.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct or delete your information, to object to or restrict how we use it, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To use any of these rights, contact us at the address above. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk), though we'd appreciate the chance to help first.
